1. () -- a hundred.

This number is preceded by 구십구 and followed by 백일. When counting by tens it is preceded by 구십 and followed by 백십 There is no pure-Korean form of this word and, like in English, 백 is used for counting by hundreds.

  • six hundred
  • seven hundred
  • eight hundred
  • nine hundred

The next highest number when counting by hundreds is .

Usage:

  • 100번째 the hundredth
  • 100살 난 사람 a centenarian
  • 수백 명의 사람들 hundreds of people
  • 100 단위세다 to count by hundreds
  • 백날 the hundredth day of a newborn baby

Examples:

  • 내가 너에게 번 더 말하면, 그것을 하지 말라고 백 번 너에게 말하는 것이 된다 If I've told you once, I've told you a hundred times not to do that.
