This is a variant of the pure-Korean cardinal number 셋 that is being used less and less. It is used to count the following quantities:
1. 달 Months: The Sino Korean word, 월, may not be counted with this number.
2. 냥 Nyangs: This is a unit of old Korean coinage equal to 100 copper coins.
3. 섬 Seoms: This is a unit of volume equaling 180 liters.
4. 자: The Korean foot, a unit of length, is equal to 30.3cm.
- 석 달 three months
- 석 냥 three nyangs, or 300 copper coins
- 석 섬 three seoms (of rice)
- 석 자 three feet
