식당 (食堂) is the Korean word for restaurant, literally meaning "eating hall." Very cheap 식당 are called 분식 (bun-shik) restaurants. These serve less substantial offerings, such as instant noodles, 김밥 (kim-bap), and 만두 (dumplings).
