Shinchon Station (신촌역, 新村驛, new.village.station. Pronounced 'Sheen-chohn'. 'Oh' sound should be like the Oh in 'Oh my!'), is a station on line 2 of the Seoul subway. It is next to Hongik University Station and Ehwa Women's University Station.
Shinchon is the closest station to Yonsei University, though the university is still some ten or fifteen minutes from the station. Shinchon has a large number of bars, coffee shops, and clothing stores.
Close to the station is a park located on a very steep hill, that can be used to get away from the bustle of the neighbourhood. It is located in the main area next to the station, and is easy to find due to its steepness. The park on the top of the hill gives a nice view of the entire area.
