죽어서 상여 뒤에 따라와야 자식이다 -- Children are those who follow behind the casket.

This proverb encourages children to devote themselves to their parents. It reminds them that no matter how many other relatives there are, the duty of caring for the deceased at the funeral and thereafter, falls on the laps of the children of the deceased, and them alone. (친자식이라도 부모의 임종을 못하고 장례를 치르지 아니하면 자식이라 할 수 없다는 말.)
