Anju

안주 (anju)

In Korea, traditionally alcoholic drinks are served with anju, which are dry snacks or side dishes. Certain dishes are considered to match certain beverages: makgeolli with pajeon and beer with squid and peanuts or fried chicken. Though not technically an anju, samgyeopsal is said to match best with soju.

In hofs it is expected that patrons order side dishes, this is not obligatory in Western bars.
