Asan (아산시, 牙山市); tooth.mountain.city) is a city in Chungcheongnam-do. The population as of 2004 was 205,057, including:

- 4,119 non-Koreans.

Asan is a small city that may be thought of as a suburb of Cheonan. The KTX station Cheonan-Asan Station (link) is located in the city, and thus Seoul may be reached in under an hour from the station.

The city is located at 126°28′∼127°07′ East, and 36°37′∼36°38′ North (36°47´N 126°59´E). It is 29 km from east to west, and 34 km from north to south. To the east is the city of Cheonan, to the west is the county of Dangjin, to the south is the county of Yesan and the city of Gongju, and to the north across the Asan Bay is the city of Pyeongtaek.
Some of the mountains in the city include Yeonginsan (영인산, 364m)이, Gwangdeoksan (광덕산, 699m), Manggyeongsan (망경산, 600m), Bongsusan (봉수산, 534m), Seolhwasan (설화산, 441m), Baebangsan (배방산, 361m), Goyongsan (고용산, 294m), and Yeonamsan (연암산, 293m).
The average yearly temperature is 12℃, the average temperature in January is -2.1℃, and the average temperature in August is 24.9℃. The average yearly precipitation is around 1,000∼1,100mm, which is relatively low compared to other parts of the country.
