Baeron is a Catholic holy site in Bongyang-eup, Jecheon-shi, Chungcheongbuk-do. Catholic refugees from persecution elsewhere in Korea settled here and the making of pottery became a specialty of the area. A seminary was established here in 1855 with French priests but it was closed in 1866 and the books burnt by the police.
