Boseong (보성군, 寶城郡, literally "jewel castle county") is one of 17 counties in Jeollanam-do. It is comprised of 2 eup and 10 myeon, and as of 2006 has a population of 52,188. It is located on the southern coast of the province and enjoys a mild climate with an average yearly temperature of 12.6℃ and an average yearly precipitation of 1,647 mm. Boseong is wedged between three metropolitian areas of Mokpo, Gwangju, and Gwangyang. To the east of Boseong is the city of Suncheon, to the west is the county of Jangheung, to the north is the county of Hwasun, and to the south is the county of Goheung.
One of the most recognizable tourist destinations in Korea is the Boseong Green Tea Fields. Green tea, 녹차, is the county's symbol, and a variety of green tea products are available throughout the area. Also of note are the scenic Daewonsa temple and the Daewonsa Temple Tibet Museum.

[edit] Recreation
- Seeing the Boseong Green Tea Fields is a must! This is easily one of the best experiences you can have in rural Korea. From the Bus Terminal catch the bus to Boseong Green Tea Fields. It'll take about 15 minutes to get there and the bus driver should let you know when you're there. From the bus stop walk up the road to the right to the first green tea field. On a note, there is another green tea field a little bit further along the highway. The bus doesn't stop there however, so you will either have to walk up the highway or grab a taxi to there. The second one is arguably more spectacular. After you're finished hiking in nock-cha heaven, take the bus to Yelsu (maybe wrong)? and enjoy a green tea sauna beside the ocean.
