Bucheon (부천시, ) is a city in Gyeonggi-do. The population as of 2004 was 864,501, including:

  • 855,697 Koreans and
  • 8,804 non-Koreans.

Bucheon is located right in between Seoul and Incheon and is quite small. It is not too far from either of the cities. Seoul is located to the north and the east, Incheon is to the west, and Shiheung is to the south.

  • 1 special school.

The universities in the city are: Bucheon College, Yuhan College, Catholic University of Korea Bucheon campus, and Seoul Theological University.

"I lived in Bucheon for 2 years, and catching cabs was always a headache...Seoul has so many entertainment/shopping areas, which tend to diffuse the nightlife crowds across the city, but Bucheon, because it’s relatively small, only has one real center (or two, if you include the newer shopping district on Kyenam-ro in Jung-dong). Right around Bucheon station has got to be one of the busier areas in the Seoul metropolitan area, what with the traffic and the bar area. Every time I go back for a visit, the Bucheon station vicinity is pretty overwhelming – and may explain why taxis can be difficult to find elsewhere in the city, as they’re all heading to or leaving that area."

Bucheon is located along the line 1 of the Seoul Subway, west towards Incheon. Line 7 is also close / within the city.
