Bundang Olympic Sports Center

The Bundang Olympic Sports Center (분당올림픽스포츠센터) is a public recreation center in the city of Seongnam's district of Bundang. It offers facilities for a variety of different sports including swimming, skating, golfing, dance, yoga and weight-lifting. A shuttle bus service provided by the center makes going to and from this location easy and convenient. The Center was opened by the Seoul Olympics Sports Promotion Foundation in July of 1994. It is located in Seohyeon-dong and the telephone number is 031-708-7481~5.

[edit] Getting there

The Bundang Olympic Sports Center is in Seohyeon-dong, across the street from Bundang Elementary School. It is just a short short ten minute walk from Samsung Plaza and Seohyeon Station. Head out exit 2, take the overpass and continue walking straight until you see the Sports Center. Buses 2, 2-1, 16-1, 17-1, 6, 200, 909, 910 stop nearby. Free parking is available in the parking lot below.

The Sports Center operates four shuttle buses that serve much of the Bundang area and some surrounding communities at no charge. They travel through Imae-dong, Yatap-dong, Seohyeon-dong, Bundang-dong, Sunae-dong and parts of both Yongin and Gwangju. The bus system runs from from 8:00am to 9:00pm, with each bus making one round trip every hour.

[edit] Skating Rink

The skating rink at the Olympic Sports Center is the only one in the Seoul area that offers ice hockey facilities that meet international standards. It also offers professional coaching and instruction in both figure and speed skating. Located on the 1st underground level, this all-season skating rink is open on weekdays from 10am to 6pm and 9am to 5pm on weekends. It is closed the second Sunday of every month. The entry fee is 5,000 won for adults, 4,500 won for youths, and 4,000 won for young children. Skates can be rented for 3,000 won, and helmets for 1,000 won.

One month memberships for the programs below are available or you can pay a one-day drop-in fee of 10,000 won for adults and 5,000 won for students/preschoolers. A 10% discount on monthly membership is available for people who sign up for two or more classes, or have a member who is an employee of the Sports Center.
