Can the Chungcheongnam-do page be pasted onto the "Category:Chungcheongnam-do" page where I've now got the link. That would keep from having to copy the CCND article twice and will avoid confusion resulting from one article being edited and the other not. Or, what I mean is, can we get an article to appear on a page by using a link of some kind, in the same way that we get a graphic to appear by using [[Image:<pic>.JPG]] even though <pic>.JPG is stored elsewhere on the site.
- There's no automatic way to do that, no, but category pages aren't for articles but rather for grouping articles that fall under the category. What we would have on a category page is info on things to do for the articles under the category, discussion on the articles as a whole on this talk page, maybe grouping some images that might be applicable, that sort of thing. mithridates aka 데이빛 03:59, 11 April 2006 (CEST)
- But the problem is, that as we have seen under restaurants (where we had some of the Itaewon restaurants listed under the Itaewon article and some other restaurants listed under the Itaewon category, is that then someone always has to keep tabs on the divergence that happens when someone adds something to one but not the other. It's really an insane way of doing things. Categories and articles might have each been designed for a specific purpose, but the key is they way they are treated in real life. People who write an article may well not be aware that there are these two parallel universes going on in the wiki. This software was apparently written by someone who postulated an ideal world of their own making. Now we are left to reconcile the inconsistencies. Why should someone having come to the category Chungcheongnam-do not be able to see the article Chungcheongnam-do at the same time -since they are interested enough to visit "Chungcheongnam-do" in the first place. (Must they be punished for their sin of not going along with what the digerati knows is right for them...) And whatever (if anything) extra that may be needed can be added over or beneath it to explain the presence of subcategories, articles, etc. Can you evision a workaround to this conundrum?
