Chang Pwuck

Chang Pwuck, meaning 'white elephant' in Thai, is a Thai restaurant in Songtan, about one minutes' walk up the street from the Osan Air Base. It's owned by the same people who run Sawatdee. Dishes are similar to those at Sawatdee, with all of the most popular Thai dishes and curries, and they'll happily make them as spicy or as mild as you wish. Appetizers start at 4,000 won, with entrees starting at 15,000; beers go for 3,000 for domestic or 8,000 for imported. The most popular choice, though, is the buffet, which goes for 15,000 and features ten dishes (one vegetarian and two others with easily-picked out meat), four soups and curries, and fruit for dessert.

To get there, turn right while facing the Air Base and head up the street for about 50 meters and it will be on your right. It's open seven days a week from 11:00 am to 9:30. English is spoken and in the photo-filled menus.

  • Address: 302-72, Shinjang-dong, Pyeongtaek
  • Telephone: 031) 665 3131

I just wanted to know if there was any way to contact Sawatdees and get their drunken noodles and cashew nut chicken recipes. I left there July 08 and I've been craving them since. No one can make it like them!
