Changnyeong (창녕군, 昌寧郡, prosperous.peaceful.county) is a county in Gyeongsangnam-do. The population as of 2004 was 66,402, including:

- 328 non-Koreans.

To the east is the city of Miryang and the county of Cheongdo in Gyeongsangbuk-do, to the west are the counties of Hapcheon and Uiryeong, to the south is the county of Haman and the city of Changwon, and to the north is the city of Daegu and the county of Goryeong. The cities of Changwon and Daegu are especially prominent, making the county of Changnyeong less isolated than it may appear on the map.
The Nakdong River flows through the county.

The average temperature in January is a relatively warm -1.2℃, and the average temperature in August is 26.3℃. The average temperature over the year is 13.1℃, and the county receives and average of 1,053mm of precipitation per year.
