[edit] History

The school opened in neighboring Masan in 1969 as Masan College of Education (마산교육대학). Its mandate was broadened to become Masan Junior College in 1978, and it became simply Masan College in 1979, at which time it had a maximum annual intake of 400 students. The school was moved and renamed in 1985, becoming Changwon National College, and became a university in 1991.
