The five-day market in Cheongcheon wasn't open on the day this photo was taken. This shijang's size and covered arcade would do justice to a town much larger than this very small town that is the seat of government and commerce in Cheongcheon-myeon.... This farm is in Songmyeong-ni at the upper end of the Hwayang Valley.
Cheongcheon-myeon (청천면) (靑川面) is a myeon in Goesan-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. It consists of thirty-one villages or ri (里). Across its western boundary lie Cheongwon-gun's Miwon-myeon and Goesan's Cheongan-myeon. To the north are found Mungwang-myeon and Chilseong-myeon. On the east side one finds Mungyeong-shi's Gaeun-eup and Nong-am-myeon. Along the southern border Cheongcheon-myeon abuts Sangju-shi's Hwabuk-myeon and Boeun-gun's Sanoe-myeon.
