Chilseong-myeon

Chilseong-myeon (칠성면) (七星面) is a myeong in Goesan-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. It consists of twenty-two villages [1] or ri (里). To its west lies Mungwang-myeon. Adjacent on the north are Goesan-eup, Gammul-myeon and Jangyeon-myeon. Across its eastern boundary are found Yeonpung-myeon and Mungyeong-shi's Gaeun-eup. On the south is Cheongcheon-myeon.

Over half of the myeon is within Songnisan National Park.

  • Population: 2,932
  • Area: 101.51 square kilometers

  • Bus: Chilseong is along the bus route between far northern Gyeongsangbuk-do and Cheongju Local buses from Goesan stop here en route to Yeonpung and Suanbo.
  • Road: From the east get off the No. 35 Expressway at Yeonpung and take Highway 34 to Chilseong. From the west take Hwy 34 to Chilseong. Roads in Chilseong-myeon include Hwy 34 and Roads 517 and 525.
  • Train: Nearest station in in Chungju.
