Chorim-dong (초림동, 草林洞) was the name of Sunae1-dong, an administrative dong in the district of Bundang, from June 5th, 1993 until January 1st, 2001.
The name Chorim was unused until the development of Bundang. It was selected because the area had been abundant with grass and trees. The name itself was made from the chinese characters Cho (초, 草), meaning grass, and rim (림, 林) which means forest. In pure Korean, they would be read as pul (풀) and sup (숲), respectively.
