Christianity is the largest religion in Korea. Koreans make a larger distinction between Catholicism (천주교, 天主敎) and other types of Christianity (기독교, 基督敎) than in most western countries, and the names for Catholic churches or cathedrals (성당, 聖堂) are different from Christian/Protestant churches (교회, 敎會).
