Chungju Lake (충주호, 忠州湖) is a manmade lake in the cities of Chungju, Jecheon and the county of Danyang in Chungcheongbuk-do. It has a total surface area of 67.5㎢, is 97.5 metres deep, and a volume of 2.75 billion tonnes. It was created in 1985 through the stopping up of a grotto in the city of Chungju through the Chungju Dam. It has the largest volume of any inland lake except Soyang Lake (2.9 billion tonnes).
