Commune Lonely Hearts Club, or simply, Commune, is a popular foreigner bar in downtown Daegu. Excluding Old Blue and 맥주창고, which are known for having a Korean and foreigner mix, Commune is considered the oldest operating expat bar in this bar district, which showed up on radar back in the fall of 2002. A good place for foreigners to hang out, chat, and select your favorite bar music to listen to.
The owner, 'Hyun-shik' can be usually found behind the bar and often plays a selection of indie, classic, and modern rock.
The weekly WEDNESDAY open mic nights are quite popular, but can be hit and miss. Any mid-week national holiday, and you'll be sure to find it packed to the walls. Live talent sometimes varies, but familiar faces are common week to week. You'll sometimes catch the house band from popular Brewery/Buffet Ariana's play a short set late in the night.
Every other Friday features Trivia, organized by regulars at the bar. Patrons play in teams, vying for the top spot prize. Question categories are often North American based.
