A small dolhareubang (돌하루방)

A Dolharubang (돌하루방) is a statue sculpted out of volcanic rock from Jeju-do that looks somewhat like a man or spirit guardian. Dolhareubangs come in all sizes, from ones that can be placed on one's desk to those larger than a human. One in Jeju-do is said to help people give birth to a boy by touching its nose and many honeymooning couples can be seen lining up to do just so, each standing to either side to have their pictures taken with their hands on its nose.

하루방 is the word in the Jeju-do dialect for grandfather (할아버지) and 돌 means stone.
