Servicing the US servicemen and women is a 'camp town' that resides within walking distance of the main gate of Camp Casey. As with many camp towns around the US bases of Korea, there is a lively juicy bar district, mostly staffed with Filipino women. The prostitution elements of TDC are closely watched by the US military police and quickly place any TDC bar 'off-limits' for GIs, if there looks to be illegal activity. Although the juicy bars also cater to the immigrant workers who work at factories in the area, the bars know that the US base is their main livelihood, so as a result, illegal activity is very marginalized.
The camp town, while no Itaewon or Songtan, also has stores for buying western clothing and goods, as well as finding good deals on cellphones, cellphone plans, and calling cards. There are a few good restaurants for Filipino food and western breakfast.
As the average Korean, Japanese, and Chinese restaurants are in abundance throughout Korea and are easy for foreigners to find, the following restaurants reflect a sampling of restaurants considered to be either popular or are western-friendly choices and other ethnic foods.
