The west side of downtown Daegu possesses some notable landmarks and areas. Firstly, Dongseongno is the unmistakably busy street running north-south through the heart of downtown and is lined with shopping outlets, department stores, and restaurants. Jungangno Station is very close and has exits opening up to the different cinemas and streets in the area. One area that's a famous rendezvous point for foreigners is in front of Academy Cinema, just south of the station.
