Edae (이대) is the colloquial name for Ewha Womans University, however, Koreans also refer to 'Edae' as being the popular nightlife and shopping district around the main gate of the university.

Due to its adjacency to Sinchon, another popular nightlife district that begins just a few short blocks to the west of the western edge of Edae, its hard to pinpoint where the Edae distinctly resides without confusing it with Sinchon establishments. Many Korean bloggers can often be seen referring to some Edae nightspots as being eastern Sinchon ones, or vice versa. So you'll notice that we do allow for some overlap in our Sinchon and Edae guides, but in effort to draw some distinction, we are treating everything west of Migliore as being in Sinchon, and everything east from there as being in Edae. And everything from Ewha Womans University Station north to Ewha University's main gate, as being in Edae. [edit] Directions to Edae
Exits 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Ewha Womans University Station will place you in the area. Most of the nightlife and shopping is in the streets to the northwest of Exit 2. The university itself can be reached from coming out of Exit 3 and walking straight for 4-5 minutes.
