Elvis (엘비스} is a popular foreigner-friendly bar in Suncheon. It is also a place Koreans go to meet native speakers of English [1]. Reportedly, in 2003 two foreign English teachers were arrested on drug-related charges after a round-up at the bar. [2].
However, these days the bar is pretty laid back, it still serves as a place for a good pint, great music and wonderful atmosphere. The bar staff and owner are friendly, hospitable and very accommodating.
[edit] Getting there
The bar is located in the Geumdang section of Suncheon, in the second floor of a building on the same block as the large Waterpia fitness center. It is one block behind Geumdang Hospital, and if coming from the main road, turn onto the smaller street next to the hospital and turn right at the 7-11. The bar will be on your left, a few storefronts down the street. Elvis is now closed apparently.
