Everland (에버랜드) is a theme park in Yongin city, Gyeonggi-do. It is part of a resort complex that includes the water park Caribbean Bay. It first opened in 1976 and, according to one source, is the eighth-largest theme park in the world in terms of annual visitors [1]. Hours and prices vary throughout the year, but there are attractions open in each season.
[edit] Notable attractions
The park is divided into five themed areas: "Global Fair," "American Adventure," "Magc Land," "European Adventure," and "Zoo-Topia". These areas are further divided into smaller regions, with names such as "Aesop's Village" and "Animal Wonder World". For more detailed information on each ride, please visit this page from the Everland site.
In "Zoo-Topia" there is an attraction named "Safari World," where guests may see animals up close from a bus or a jeep. Among the animals included are tigers, lions, ligers, elephants, and various bear species. For better or worse it is billed as "the only safari complex in the world where lions and tigers coexist." Those wishing to try the safari ought to visit Safari World early and reserve a ticket via "Q-Pass."
Also in "Zoo-Topia," in the "Animal Wonder World" section, is a small exhibit of Fennec foxes. This type of fox, called 사막어우 ("desert fox"), is featured in the French book Thus Little Prince, and is thus a popular display for Koreans.
There are two fairly small roller coasters. The largest and most popular one is called "Eagle's Fortress" and is in "American Adventure." It is a suspended steel coaster in operation since 1992. For fairly positive reviews of the coaster, visit this profile from coasterforce.com.

[edit] Seasonal themes
Each season has its own theme at Everland, and parades and displays are adjusted accordingly. The theme in winter is "Christmas Holiday Fantasy"; in spring, "Flower Carnival"' in summer, "Summer Splash"; and in fall, "Happy Halloween." Visit the Everland page for more detailed information.
[edit] Restaurants
There are restaurants and vendors everywhere in the park and are clearly marked on the map. There is a Burger King in "Magic Land," between the carousel and the "Four Seasons Garden." Hangaram (한가람) is a Korean restaurant with vegetarian-friendly dishes like bibimbap.
[edit] Everland Resort
In addition to the theme park there is also the popular water park Caribbean Bay, open all year round. There is a golf course and a youth hostel.
