Garae-ddeok (가래떡) is rice-cake made in long thick cylinders. It is most commonly sliced diagonally to make ddeokguk-ddeok. It's also sometimes used in ddeokbokki in place of the usual thinner ddeokbokki-ddeok. And it is sometimes roasted over charcoal and sold as a street snack.
