Geochang (거창읍) is the administrative centre of Geochang County (거창군), located roughly one hour west of Daegu. The population as of 2002 was 67,224. In addition to possessing a small, but growing number of foreign english teachers, as well as the occassional migrant worker at the nearby Seoul Milk plant, Geochang attracts seasonal tourist traffic to its different events and festivals.
