Gimpo (김포시, 金浦市, gold/kim.harbour.city) is a city in Gyeonggi-do. The population as of 2004 was 216,689, including:
- 208,192 Koreans and
- 8,497 non-Koreans.

Gimpo is most well known for being the location of Gimpo International Airport, the main international airport in Korea until Incheon International Airport took its place for interational flights, except a few to Japan. Gimpo airport is still the airport used in Korea for domestic flights however, and it is closer to the centre of Seoul than the one in Incheon is. The airport is now actually located inside Seoul, but the name remains the same.
Cities on the border with Gimpo are Incheon, Seoul, Paju and Goyang. North Korea is also across the water from the city.

There are a few small mountains in the city: Munsusan (문수산, 文殊山:376m), Jangneungsan (장릉산, 章陵山:150m), Suansan (수안산, 遂安山:147m) and others.
Gimpo, being located to the west of Seoul along the Yellow / West Sea has the same climate: the average yearly temperature is 11.7℃, the average in January is 0.1℃, and the average in August is 25.3℃. The average yearly precipitation is 1,319mm. Note that the Yellow Sea does not provide the same moderating influence that the sea does on the east coast, and that in the winter Gimpo is around 5 degrees colder than cities at the same latitude on the east side.126°
