Gonggeom-myeon

Gonggeom-myeon (공검면) (恭倹面) is a myeon in Sangju-shi, Gyeongsangbuk-do. On its north is Ian-myeon, to its east is Hamchang-eup and Sabeol-myeon. To the south is Oiseo-myeon and to the west is Euncheok-myeon.

  • Area: 39.533 sq. kms.
  • Population: 2,977 (1,419 male, 1560 female)


[edit] Transportation

  • Bus: Gonggeom town is on the east end of the myeon and many buses traveling between Jeomchon and Sangju stop here in a little parking lot. Some of these go to Gumi, Gimcheon, or Daegu.
  • Car: Highway 3 and the No. 45 Expressway both run through this myeon.
  • Train: The track passes through the myeon but there are no stations. Nearby stations are at Sangju, Jeomchon, Hamchang - the nearest, however, is at Yangjeong, less than a kilometer from Gonggeom village.
