Goryeong (고령군, , high.spirit.county) is a county in Gyeongsangbuk-do. The population as of 2004 was 35,389, including:

  • 34,522 Koreans and
  • 867 non-Koreans.

To the east is the city of Daegu and the county of Changnyeong in Gyeongsangnam-do, to the south is the county of Hapcheon in Gyeongsangnam-do, to the west is the county of Geochang and the city of Gimcheon both in Gyeongsangbuk-do, and to the north is the county of Seongju.

Some of the mountains in the area include Mandaesan (만대산, 萬代山:668m) and Notaesan (노태산, 魯泰山:440m).

As the county is located away from the sea it lacks its moderating influence. Its average yearly temperature is l3.3℃, the average in January is -1℃, and the average in August is 25.9℃. The average yearly precipitation is 1,106mm.
