Gosu Cave

Gosu Cave (고수동굴) is located in Danyang-eup, Danyang county, Chungcheongbuk-do. It is 1,300 meters deep and contains a multitude of rock formations and, reportedly, some 24 different species of wildlife.

[edit] Visiting

Gosu Cave is open from 9 to 5 in winter and from 9 to 5:30 in summer. Admission for adults is 4,000 won. Walking there, touring the site, and walking back will take under 2 hours.

The cave is a 15-minute walk or a 2-minute taxi ride from the bus terminal in Danyang-eup. To get there on foot, exit the terminal and turn right. Follow the main road until the entrance and a cluster of souvineer stands appears on your left.

Portions of the cavern are a tight squeeze and may be prohibitive for some guests. There are steep staircases in some parts, so exercise some caution.
