The intercity bus terminal in Gumi is a couple kilometers east of the train station. Local buses or taxis connect the two - the taxi stand is across the street from the bus station, and the bus stop is likewise, a bit to the left of the taxi stand. Buses go to several Daegu bus terminals, to Gyeongsan, Gwangju, Pohang, Ulsan, Busan, Jinju, Gwangju, Daejeon, Seoul, Seosan-Sangju-Jeomchon, and other destinations throughout Korea.

There's a smaller building on the north side where incoming buses stop. It contains several small restaurants and on its east end a hwajangshil. The main building contains the usual snack shops, and hwajangshils on the north side on both floors. There's a Nong Hyup supermarket across the street in back of the terminal. West of the terminal, there are many hotels and yeogwans within walking distance.
