Hanyang University (한양대학교, 漢陽大學校) is one of the largest universities in South Korea, and is located in Seoul with a second campus in the suburban city of Ansan. It has a large college of engineering. "Practice of love" is its motto.

Hanyang University was founded in 1939 under the name "Donga Engineering Institute" as the first Engineering School in Korea. At that time, it offered instruction in 3 engineering subjects: civil, measurement, and mining. In 1948 it was renamed "Hanyang Engineering College". The name "Hanyang University" was used from 1959, when it expanded into other education categories, for example, Medical school, Law school, Science school, Business school, Language & Literature school, etc.. as an university status. The second campus opened in Ansan in 1979, then the size of Hanyang university became the largest one in Korean universities.
