The Gingko Tree in Hasong-ni, Yeongwol-eup, Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do is said to be the biggest in Asia. In 1962 it was designated as Natural Monument No. 76. The tree had once been growing in front of a temple, but now it's in a village, surrounded by houses.
Legend has it that children who fall from this tree don't get hurt. A snake with magic powers is said to live in the gingko.
