Hong-do (홍도, 紅島) is an island in Heuksan-myeon, Shinan county, Jeollanam-do. It occupies an area of 6.47 square kilometers and in 2001 it had a population of 478. It lies 115 kilometers southwest of Mokpo. The highest point is called Gittaebong (깃대봉) and rises 368 meters.
The name Hong-do means Red Island and this derives from the reddish color of the rocks. The area is designated as a natural monument and is part of Dadohae Maritime National Park. Popular activities include scuba diving and touring rock formations. Hong-do is approximately 30 minutes from Heuksan-do, another favorite destination.
