There are an abundance of small clinics, specialty clinics, and pharmacies in Gwangyang. In Gwangyang-si/Jungmadong, there are 2 main public hospitals with emergency services.

Sarang Hospital- located at Oryu 2(i)-gil and Gongyeongno, 2 blocks west of the bus depot. It is in a very busy part of town, next to several popular bars (Titikaka and Chicago), a hagwon (GnB English) and has a pharmacy attached to it. It is a pricey hospital. The staff has zero English speaking ability, but the doctors have basic to intermediate speaking ability.

Woorisang Hospital- located at the end of Jindeung-gil, close to the Songbo apartments at the top of the hill to the north. It is in the currently under construction apartment complex area in the northern part of the city. It has geriatric services in another complex as well as emergency services.
