The Cello Hotel is located right across the street from the two bus terminals in Wonju. It is distinctive in its decor: strictly Italian and very ornate, and in its piped-in music in the halls: yes, cello pieces.
When coming in, one won't usually be greeted by a desk clerk. Instead, one uses the handy phone and a person will pop out of somewhere. The rooms themselves are clean and quiet, with wood floors. This hotel doesn't provide drinking water, but there's an electric pot in which water, tea or coffee can be prepared. The rooms feature bathtubs as well as showers, and have big flat-screen TVs.
Cost of a room (Oct., 2009) was 40,000 won.
