Hwacheon (화천군, , flower.river.county) is a county in Gangwon-do. The population as of 2004 was 24,356, including:

To the north of Hwacheon is the county of Cheorwon, to the west are the counties of Pocheon and Gapyeong in Gyeonggi-do, to the south is the city of Chuncheon, and to the east is the county of Yanggu.

The Taebaek Mountains are to the east. Some mountains in the county include Daeseongsan (대성산, 大成山:1,175m), Jeokgeunsan (적근산, 赤根山:1,073m) and Hoinbausan (흰바우산, 1,179m).

As Hwacheon is far from the sea it lacks its moderating influence. The average yearly temperature is 9.4℃, the average in January is -7.2℃, and the average in August is 26.4℃. The average precipitation over the year is 1,064.8 mm.
