Hwangaksan is on the border between Daehang-myeon of Gimcheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do and Maegok-myeon and Sangchon-myeon of Yeongdong-gun of Chungcheongbuk-do. Hwangaksan is 1111.4 meters high. Jikjisa temple is on the lower east slope of this mountain.
