Hwaseo-myeon is located in Sangju-shi, Gyeongsangbuk-do. On its south and west borders is Hwanam-myeon. To the north is Hwabuk-myeon and Oiseo-myeon, the later being also on the northeastern boundary. On the east will be found Naeseo-myeon and Hwadong-myeon.

- Bus: Buses traveling from Sangju to Boeun and Cheongju stop at the terminal here.
- Car: Highway 25 and Road No. 49 run thru this myeon.
- Train: Nearest station is in Sangju.
