Imshil Cheese is Korea's most famous domestic cheese, manufactured in Imshil. A Belgian priest, Didier Serstevens, was appointed to lead the catholic church in Imshil, in 1964. He raised goats and the local farmers later became involved with the production of their milk and helped start the Imshil Cheese Factory.
Imshil Cheese Village has a tourism center that organizes cheese-making events with visitors.
