Jajangyulsa

Jajangyulsa, a Buddhist monk, constructed the temple of Shinheungsa in 652 A.D. This temple is located in Seoraksan National Park. He studied in China and returned to Korea in 642 A.Dto. He was said to have come back to Korea with Buddha's skull, a molar, and one of Buddha's poems. He buried them beneath a pagoda at Tongdosa temple in Gyeongsangnam-do, also initiating that temple's construction.
