Shinheung five-day market in Jeomchon, Mungyeong-shi is open on days ending in 3 and 8. It is located next to the Jeomchon shinae bus terminal in the northern part of Jeomchon.
This market extends down back alleys as well as a block or two on the main street. In boshintang season live animals are sold at the east end. There's more variety in produce than one would find in the everyday market downtown. Items like seosongi-beoseot and bijijang, peeled squash, and ssuk leaves can be bought. There are also stalls selling medicinal herbs, shoes, clothing, music tapes, A building off the market area has an auction in the mornings where produce and such is bid on in larger quantities. There's an area where halmonis with only a few items come and sell what they have. A stall makes excellent ho-ppang. Others sell fresh injeolmi and garae ddeok still warm from preparation. Another does sujebi. This market is as large and as interesting as the famous Jeongseon five-day market
