The Jucheon River (주천강, 酒泉江) is a river in Pyeongchang and Hoengseong counties in Gangwon-do. It starts from Taegisan (태기산, 泰岐山:1,261m) mountain. The river is 95.4 km in length and the total watershed is 608.42㎢.

The hanja in the name give it the meaning "alcohol spring river", and comes from a local legend. It was said that alcohol came out of a spring in a rock near the river, but that nobles (양반) received pure alcohol (청주, 淸酒) whereas peasants (천민) only got coarse liquor (탁주, 濁酒). One day a peasant dressed up in the robes of a nobleman and tried to get better alcohol from the spring but the spring new and only gave him coarse liquor. Enraged, the peasant cursed the spring, causing only water to flow from the rock from then on.
