Korea University (고려대학교) is regarded to be one of the top three "SKY" universities in Korea, the other universities consisting of Seoul National University and Yonsei University. Korea University is located in Anam-dong in Seoul and can be accessed by the subway from the Anam Station and the Korea University Station. The school has a longstanding rivalry with Yonsei University and each fall the schools have a joint sport competition called Ko-Yon Jeon (called Yon-Ko Jeon at Yonsei) as well as rival cheering rallies in the spring. Korea University was founded by entrepreneur and politician Kim Songsoo and was shut down in the 1980s during the Democracy Movement due to actively protesting students. The school colors are red and white and the mascot is the tiger.
