Korean Film Council

The Korean Film Council, established by the government on April 3, 1973 as the Korean Motion Picture Promotion Corporation, is charged with the promotion of Korean cinema and improving the quality of Korean films. Headquartered in Dongdaemun it operates the Korean Academy of Film Arts in Myeongdong, the Namyangju Studio Complex, the MediACT Theater, and the Art Theater.
