Maxim is the Korean version of the popular men's magazine. It's 4,900 won at the newsstand or you can subscribe for one year at 47,000, an 11,800 won discount.
Maxim happens to have the same name as the instant coffee found throughout the country, and on Maxim's homepage the following question appears in the FAQ:
- MAXIM... - Does Maxim have something to do with coffee?
There is no direct relationship, no. But in a sense we are related. Just like a nice strong cup of coffee after you get to work in the morning, we also give the men of Korea a kind of mental stimulation, and like a fragrant cup of coffee after a day's work, our magazine also adds a rich flavour to your day. If this is what you mean, then I guess we do have a lot in common with coffee, don't you think?
