Mexican restaurants in Korea
(Redirected from Mexican restaurants)

Mexican food exists in Korea, however, cuisine enthusiasts may cast a bit of a pout when they discover that there is a lot of inconsistency with regards to authenticity and quality. Casa Loca, whose Mexican head chef was lured away from his restaurant in Mexico City by enterprising Koreans, has emerged in recent years as being the most gourmet choice one could make. Choi's Tacos and TACO, located in the popular foreigner burgs of Sinchon and Itaewon, respectively, have very loyal patronage with expats in Korea who are looking for a quick fix. For those of you who hanker for Taco Bell, well, you're about 10 years too late, as they were already here, the Korean owners struggled to make it last, and they folded. Taco Bells' can be found, but are on US bases, so if you are a GI, you already know that you are lucky. As for everyone else, you'll need to make a friend who works on the base (US or civilian employee) who can escort you on with a base pass to placate your need to "run for the border".
